We are partnering with a local, experienced organizer to bring alumni a unique, individually-tailored professional networking opportunity! Speed Networking is a meeting format designed to accelerate networking contacts, generally timed and with a bell. Essentially, the practice involves multiple people that gather in a single space in order to exchange information. Participants greet each other in a series of brief exchanges during a set period of time. During an interaction, attendees share their professional backgrounds and goals. Networkers are generally seeking exposure to other careers and/or to expand their Skidmore contacts.
What makes the event unique is that it is personalized, or customized, speed networking. Typically, speed networking is random -- you simply move around a table and meet everyone. Here, it is different -- each person influences who they will be matched with by putting their "preferences" into a system. Once you register, you will be contacted by Craig Turet of Precision Speed Networking, with information to fill out a brief online profile that will allow you to specify the types of professionals that you would like to meet. You will be provided with a customized schedule of meetings that are based on your profile selections. Meetings are seven minutes long, and you will meet up to ten people.
