March 2013
Dear Classmates,
Do you remember being on the cusp of life after Skidmore? Think about our senior spring. Do you recall that sense of closing one chapter and beginning something new? It’s interesting to think that our life as Skidmore alumni will be far longer than our time as a student. So, what keeps us connected? As much as the special moments at Skidmore stand out in my mind, what anchors me to those years and continues to connect me to Skidmore is people—it’s you, our class, our professors, and all the people who made our time at Skidmore interesting, challenging, and inspiring.
Who could forget waiting in line to share your Subversive Thinking paper with Professor Pearlman after staying up all night “earning your dimes” with your partner. You also knew you were in luck if you were in Una Bray’s math class on March 14. She loves her pie! And you could never leave a class with Professor Sheldon Solomon without a smile on your face.
I’m writing in celebration of those people who made the College what it was for us and in support of those who continue its important work. We can have an immediate impact on the individual people who keep the College moving forward. Our gifts truly matter and make it possible for faculty and students to work together on collaborative research, in a studio, or across a seminar table.
Another way our gifts matter will be in the Make March Count competition. It started on March 1 with Skidmore, St. Lawrence, Union, and Hobart and William Smith Colleges competing for the most number of young alumni donors. I don’t know about you, but I am preparing for battle! Gifts of all sizes will help us win the competition, so join with me and make your gift today. Not only will your gift help us take the lead, you will also be providing scholarship support for over 40 percent of students. For more information about the competition and to make a gift, visit www.skidmore.edu/makemarchcount.
Give to help the Skidmore people who matter most: top-notch students, world-class faculty, and caring staff.
Go Skidmore!
