October 2011

Hello friends!

It’s that time again! So much has changed, so much has remained the same...either way, we are ready to celebrate our 10th Reunion in style! This past summer a group of us got together in Saratoga and braved shopping on Broadway, DA’s, and Doughboys to come up with great ideas for our Reunion weekend. It was tough work (being on the patio at Gaffney’s made it even tougher) but we put together some great activities!

Mark your calendars now: Reunion Weekend takes place from May 31–June 3, 2012.

Many of you will remember our 5th Reunion and our many dorm adventures! Lucky for us we will have that option again, and we have already planned a few lounge gatherings. For those who would rather not endure twin extra long beds, there will be hotel options at discounted rates. The Reunion Web site will have more info, check it out at: www.skidmore.edu/reunion/. Wherever you choose to stay, though, don’t forget how important it is to register—so we know who has come back to have fun, and know where to meet up with our classmates!

Wherever you are in your life, there will be fun for you—like face painting, a petting zoo and a bouncy bounce, if you have kids and want to bring them. (The Office of Alumni Affairs will provide you with a list of local babysitters should you want to leave the kids behind for a bit and walk down memory lane with us.) But, if you’re still living it up—or just want to pretend for the weekend—not to worry, we’re planning more ―adult‖ activities as well, and fully expect to be in line at Esperanto’s with you come 2 a.m. If you joined us on campus five years ago, we’re sure you will remember the great turnout we had—let’s bring it again!

Start calling/texting/e-mailing your friends and book your trips to Saratoga! ―Like‖ the Skidmore Class of 2002 page on Facebook—it’s a great way to get excited for Reunion! Also, take a moment and check out the Skidmore Connect link on the Skidmore Web site to find old friends in the class directory.

While you’re on campus celebrating TEN years with us next June, be sure to check out the new Arthur Zankel Music Center, Northwoods apartments, and be sure to say your heartfelt good-byes to Scribner Village (  ).
A special thanks goes to those who made the trip up North this past July to help with the planning: Elyssa and Rebecca Brand, Francesca Cichello, Rachel Gargano, Keith Kirshner (by phone), and Rick Pecka. Give them a big hug (or buy them a drink) when you see them!

The countdown begins to old friends, new adventures, and crazy stories for years to come!

See you soon!
