Dear Classmates,
Greetings! I am happy to announce I will be helping with our class’s Annual Fund efforts. At first I was hesitant, but with so many fond memories, I am honored to help. I hope you will find a way to help, too. Skidmore was (and still is) a pretty great place. I’m sure you'll agree, and I hope you will join me in supporting our class and Skidmore as a whole.
Spring Semester is well underway and the Class of 2013 is nearing the final stretch of its Skidmore experience. Do you remember being on the cusp of life after Skidmore? Do you recall that sense of closing one chapter and beginning something new? It’s interesting to think that we spend most of our lives as alumni of Skidmore and only four years as students. What keeps us connected? As much as the special moments at Skidmore stand out in my mind, what anchors me to those years and continues to connect me to Skidmore is people—it's you, our class, professors, and all the people who made our time at Skidmore interesting, challenging, and inspiring.
I’m writing in celebration of those people who made the College what it was for us and in support of those who continue its vital work. Our gifts truly matter and make it possible for faculty and students to work together in the lab, in the studio, and across a seminar table. The Annual Fund has an immediate impact on the individual people who keep the College moving forward, and it is important to remember that gifts of all sizes are important. Everyone’s participation matters.
For me, with a growing family that includes three boys ages 7, 6, and soon-to-be 5—each of whom seem to share my love of pottery and throwing a frisbee—I give what I can because I know my gift has an immediate impact on the individual people who keep the College moving forward. In fact, gifts of all amounts are used to help provide financial aid to over 40 percent of students. That matters to me. I ask that you join me in giving to support the Skidmore people that matter the most: top-notch students, world-class faculty, and caring staff. Everyone’s participation matters, and I’d love to see you included.
Sincerely,
Bill

P.S. Establishing recurring gifts is really easy and makes contributing less of a budget-crunch. You can set up secure, automatic gifts from your bank account or credit card conveniently at www.skidmore.edu/makeagift.
