The Official Skidmore College Reunion 2013 Video
March 1, 2013
Dear Classmates,
We’re having a hard time with the number 20. Do you remember our final weeks at Skidmore, just before we graduated? Do you recall that sense of closing one chapter and beginning something new? It's interesting to think that we spend most of our lives as alumni of Skidmore and only four years as students. What keeps us connected? As much as the special moments stand out in our minds, what anchors us to those years and continues to connect us to Skidmore is people—it’s great faculty and staff, and you and our class. In short, all these people made our time at Skidmore interesting, challenging, and inspiring.
With our 20th Reunion approaching, it’s time to start planning...have you made a checklist? It should look something like this: Register for Reunion (simple enough, right?), plan lodging (let’s relive those memories of dorm living!) and e-mail all your friends and make sure they’re doing the same. There’s a great program of events planned, including trying out Druther’s, the new brewery downtown, delicious drinks and food at Sperry’s and of course a special dinner with just our class on campus. In between, there will be time for us to spend together catching up and talking about how we the people from our Skidmore experiences still matter.
One way to show how the faculty and staff still matter to us is by participating in our class gift. The Skidmore Annual Fund has an immediate impact on the individual people who keep the College moving forward, and this year, our gift will do so by providing a full financial aid package of $30,000 for a deserving student. We hope all of our classmates will participate in this effort—every gift matters. The class gift offers each of us an opportunity to commemorate the Skidmore that we recall so fondly at the same time celebrating the College it is today.
We are pleased to report that we are nearly two-thirds of the way to our goal, but we still have a good bit of work ahead of us. To make your gift please use the enclosed envelope, call the College (800-584-0115), or contribute online at www.skidmore.edu/makeagift. You also can help us spread the word by encouraging your friends to join us. Let’s show our pride Class of ’93 and help create new memories for a future Skidmore student!
Be on the lookout in March for formal registration materials—we can’t wait to see everyone back in Saratoga at the end of May.
All the best,
Corinne Knight Jenny Lando
