Dear Classmates,
Some of you may be surprised to learn that our 25th year Reunion is now history!! I know that this will come as no surprise to at least 110 of you; as to the others, I’m sorry you were unable to take part in this great celebration. If you now regret having missed Reunion, you will have another chance in five years, and so you should mark off the first weekend in June 2016 with the words Skidmore College Class of '86 30th Reunion.
I am sincerely grateful for the efforts everyone made to attend. Many people traveled long journeys, but regardless of the point of origin there should be no doubt that what made the event special was the turnout.
We were fortunate to have great weather and Skidmore College went all out to create an amazing event for us. For me, the highlight of the weekend was the Saturday night party outside the Arthur Zankel Music Center. The party was attended by 160 (classmates and guests) who enjoyed excellent live music and an open bar—always a good combination. And while we were drinking and dancing, hors d'oeuvres were passed (scallops wrapped in bacon, vegetable spring rolls, coconut chicken with raspberry melba sauce, and mini beef wellingtons...) and a buffet dinner (tuna tartar, filet mignon, and crab cakes...) was served.
A very special thanks to the band which included Ian Selig, Will Pouch, Greg Demirjian, Vincent Schimel, Adam Witt, Josh Margolis, Rich Tressen, Professor Sheldon Solomon and his son, and to Dan Wolff who joined in for a song. Also a special thanks to David Silveira, Christina Schlank, Jackie Abramoff, and Eve Mulholland for dancing with me, and to Zack Salino, Ellen Hermann and Eve Mulholland for their efforts in planning and executing various aspects of the Reunion.
All in all, I really appreciate the opportunity that I had to reconnect with the class and I hope that everyone had a good time. We have left the Facebook page up so please post anything you would like to share and let's try to keep in touch as the years pass.
