Dear Classmates,
Our 40th Skidmore Reunion is less than 3 months away - I do hope you have Saved the Dates (May 30 - June 2) to travel to Saratoga to celebrate this milestone Reunion. Registration materials will be mailed in mid-March. I know many of you have reached out to classmates - those you keep in touch with on a regular basis as well as those with whom you would like to reconnect - thank you for those efforts to encourage as many members of our class to attend Reunion!
I hope you all will give serious consideration to attending this year. I know all too well how easy it is to be too busy, too tired, too out of shape, too just not into it...but I can assure you that the sense of community, vitality and excitement you will feel will be worth every ounce of effort once you are back on Campus and see long-time friends. We will not have this 40th Reunion opportunity again.
When the Reunion Planning Committee convened in Saratoga last July, we set some pretty lofty, but certainly attainable, goals - we DO want to break attendance  records for a 40th year reunion (we are looking for 73 but hoping 100+ will attend) and we DO want to break class fund raising participation (hopefully at least 60% ... but let's go for 73%). As I have stressed to those whom I have contacted, a $5 gift counts towards PARTICIPATION levels. We also have a very exciting and unique opportunity thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor from our class who will match any new gift made from March 1 to May 31, up to $40,000. Now is the time to make a gift and see its impact doubled as you help us move toward that donor goal. We have yet to break through to 100 donors, so the time is now!
More and more classmates have become Facebook Friends of the Class of '73 - be sure to "friend" the class at:https://www.facebook.com/groups/305012277726/ and touch base with classmates!
Details for our class reunion weekend will be outlined in the registration materials - but as an early enticement for your anticipated attendance, please make note of the following highlights:
• Friday night dinner gathering at Saratoga Polo Club!! Special entertainment for our class will be presented by our very own Doug Gray - a musical cabaret "Assisted Living: The Musical."
• Saturday Parade of Classes - with our Class Photo scheduled for 1 PM!
• Tie-Dye ... always appropriate
• Saturday Night Celebration Dinner on Campus followed by dancing and fireworks!
• Sunday Brunch on Campus
• There will be opportunities to attend a variety of lectures, tours of Saratoga, golf, tennis, pastries at Mrs. London's, drinks at the old Van Dam (now Maestro's) or just hang out 'til the wee hours "catching up!" Whatever your expectations for the weekend may be, they are sure to be met once you arrive on Campus. Skidmore is ready to welcome us "home."
