Dear Classmates,
It’s hard to believe we’re already four months into 2012. At Skidmore, the students have returned to campus from break and Spring Term is picking up pace toward Commencement. In the spring of 1977, we were preparing for graduation and our lives beyond. Fast-forward to 2012, and we are getting ready for our 35th Reunion. There is much to contemplate and celebrate in our individual stories since 1977 and, no matter how different our paths have been, we have a common thread: Skidmore.
By now you should have received registration materials for Reunion 2012, and we hope you’re making plans to join us in Saratoga Springs. We also hope that you’ve had some time to consider how you will participate in our class Reunion gift. The class is making very good progress toward our overall Reunion gift goal of $325,000, with over $250,000 in gifts and commitments now in hand. Leadership gifts from the class have been wonderfully broad-based, and we have set our sights on breaking the 35th Reunion record for the number of Friends of the Presidents (FOP) donors.
In order to break the record, we need 22 FOP donors, and we can see our way to reaching that if a handful—5 or 6—of our classmates choose this year to make their first ever FOP gift ($2,000 or more). Our class is so close to setting that record!
Friends of the Presidents gifts are essential to the continued success of the College and we hope that you might consider celebrating our Reunion by making an FOP gift. Our 35th Reunion is a special event in our lives, and we encourage you to use that as a guide as you make your gift this year. We will keep you posted on our progress as we get closer to May.
Join in our gift effort and join us on campus. We have much to share, and it won’t be the same without you!
