Dear Classmates,
What a friend we have in Ellen! Ellen Pomeranz Sax, that is, who spent significant time this past frigid January scouting out various venues in Saratoga Springs for our upcoming 50th Reunion, May 29 - June 1, 2014.
 But that’s a year and a half away, you say! YES and the planning is already underway. It seems that the sleepy Saratoga Springs we experienced back in the ‘60s (where a trip to Farmers Hardware was the “ne plus ultra” of shopping trips) has become a popular destination all summer long. Hence, Ellen’s foray from Boston.
We’d love to know if there’s something you’d like to have at our 50th -- say, a panel of experts focusing on “the vicissitudes of life after 70” and/or a special display of our class artisans (painters, writers, stitchers -- and more). Maybe you’ve got something far more exotic or interesting and, if so, let us know. We are open to and want your suggestions.
By chance during mid-December, I was having dinner at the University Club in New York City with my son, Chris. As we were just about to leave I looked up and spotted Judy Pick Eissner at a nearby table and, after a quick exchange of Merry Christmas, we said, “The Reunion! It’s coming up! Gotta get planning!” I was thrilled with her excitement and delighted to learn that she and others from the Boston area will be coming to Saratoga July 25-26, 2013, for a reunion planning session. I’ll be motoring it from Maine!
Remember -- you are all welcome to come to that meeting. It’s a great time to discuss and plan what could be our most special time at Skidmore since graduation. Let me know if you’re interested in coming. And if you can’t be there in person, send me an email (valmarier@me.com) with your thoughts and hopes for our 50th.
