Dear Classmates,
The Class of 1946 will celebrate our 65th reunion on June 2-5 in Saratoga Springs! Reunion activities include dinner with President Glotzbach and Marie Glotzbach on Thursday night; Friday dinner at the Murray-Aikins Dining Hall; the Alumni Awards Ceremony on Saturday morning; the picnic luncheon on Saturday afternoon; dinner at the Surrey Williamson Inn on Saturday night joining the Class of 1951; and the Alumni Memorial Service at the Alumni Memorial Garden behind the Surrey Williamson Inn on Sunday. Official registration materials have been mailed and then you can find a list of attendees by visiting www.skidmore.edu/reunion or by calling the College at 800-584-0115.
Reunion is a good way to reconnect with friends and share your fond memories of Skidmore! Do consider attending. A Class of 1946 directory is included in this mailing.
Since our days in Saratoga, Skidmore has undergone many changes and this year is no exception. In the
2010-2011 year, the College has dedicated the beautiful new Arthur Zankel Music Center, honored alumna and trustee Susan Kettering Williamson ’59 by naming the sports complex after her; and, in a return to one of its traditional strengths, Skidmore again affords its students an opportunity to earn a nursing degree. As of fall 2010 qualified students can earn a baccalaureate degree from Skidmore College, be automatically accepted at NYU School of Nursing, and receive a second baccalaureate degree in nursing from NYU.
To continue its ambitious academic mission, Skidmore depends on the Annual Fund, a crucial and essential component of the budget. This year, there is another challenge opportunity. The $1 Million Momentum Challenge seeks to build on the success of last year’s Williamson Challenge. If the College can rally 12,500 donors by May 31, 2011, then a generous group of alumni, parents, and friends will contribute $1 million to Skidmore. We helped to meet the challenge last year. Let’s do it again this year.
Think about coming to Reunion, and remember to send in your contribution to the Annual Fund. Enjoy the spring!
