 Hello classmates of World Famous (Saratoga famous???) 1948! Yep, our 65th reunion is practically around the corner --- like next May 30-June 2, 2013! Megan Mercier (our "tour guide and ever-there-to-help" liaison in the Alumni Office) has already lined up our great schedule of events. You won't want to miss the fun!

So here's the scoop:

  • First, we will be staying on campus, with easy access to everything. And if we need a ride, there will be golf carts available. No more bus trips!
  • Thursday Evening: We'll kick things off with President Phil Glotzbach and Marie Glotzbach at the Scribner Society Dinner (we're members you know!).
  • Friday Afternoon: Tea with former President David Porter and his wife Helen. They'll share their latest endeavor, a book about Lucy Skidmore Scribner's writings (and we may even have a copy of the book for everyone!). And we hope that David will delight us with some of his wonderful piano playing.
  • Friday Evening: Dinner with Susan Kress, the first Class of 48 Professor of Excellence in Teaching, as our guest. (If I'm correct, it was at our 55th that she gave a beautiful speech accepting the award.) Susan is now retired as Skidmore's Vice President for Academic Affairs.
  • Saturday Morning: The Parade of Classes and Alumni Awards & Recognition Ceremony. The picnic will follow of course.
  • Saturday Evening:  A celebration dinner on campus! Our current Class of 1948 Professor of Excellence in Teaching, John Anzalone, will be on academic sabbatical in France. We are hoping to have a message to share with everyone.
  • Sunday Morning: Class of '48 breakfast in the Dining Hall will give us an opportunity to bid each other adieu, but we hope to see you at the Alumni Memorial Service for important remembrances.
  • And then it's bye-bye 'til our 70th!!  Aw come on, think big....
