This non-denominational Tree Lighting Ceremony, started by students in 1988, is a Skidmore tradition that marks the start of the holiday season, and the Junior Ring Weekend. The Skidmore Alumni Association is excited to once again be partnering with the Student Government Association on this student-run event. We are happy to invite area alumni and friends to join the celebration. Enjoy hot cocoa and other refreshments, performances by various student a-cappella groups and conversations with current students. Spouses, guests and family members are welcome.

We invite you to bring an ornament of your choosing to contribute to the live tree that will be on display on Case Green. Following the holiday season, the tree will be planted in a permanent location on the Skidmore campus in an effort to support Skidmore’s sustainability initiative.

The Skidmore Shop will be open special hours form 11am - 10pm for their annual holiday sale and fashion show.  
Dining Services will be presenting their holiday buffet that evening from 5 - 8pm in Murray Aikins Dining Hall.  
The Annual Francis Steloff Lecture presented by Zadie Smith will be held in the Gannett Auditorium at 8pm.

Please consider joining us for these and other activities that will be happening throughout the day.  Additional information and a complete schedule of events will be posted at the Skidmore Shop's website in the coming days.

Directions:

From the Northway (Interstate 87), take exit 15 and proceed west on Route 50, toward Saratoga Springs.

Turn right onto East Avenue.
•    If you’re coming from the south (Albany), it will be your fourth traffic light.
•    If you’re coming from the north (Montreal), it will be your third traffic light.

At the top of the hill, turn right onto North Broadway, and continue to the Skidmore campus. Turn left by the Skidmore campus sign. At the first stop sign turn left. Proceed around the perimeter road until you see signs for Case Center on your right. Turn right and follow the drive to the top of the hill to the Case Center parking lot. Case Green is located on the opposite side of Case Center.
